A space to pause, reflect and connect
Therapy for those navigating life’s transitions, relationships, and the process of better understanding themselves.
About Me
Hi, I’m Imani.
I’m a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, AMFT #164122.
I’ve always been curious about people and what shapes us. Growing up with mental health struggles within my family gave me an early awareness of how much can go unspoken and deepened my curiosity about why we are the way we are. I’ve always been interested in the stories we carry and the relationships that influence us, and becoming a therapist felt like a natural extension of that curiosity.
As a multicultural therapist with Cape Verdean, Brazilian, and American roots, I know that identity is rarely simple. Navigating multiple cultural backgrounds myself has deepened my appreciation for the ways culture, family, relationships, and lived experiences intersect. I’ve seen how these different parts of our lives can shape the way we understand ourselves, connect with others, and move through the world.
I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Oaks College and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon.
Outside of the therapy room, you’ll usually find me practicing yoga, spending time near the ocean, or soaking up time in nature. These are some of the things that help me feel grounded and connected. I’ve found that the same sense of grounding can come from the small moments in everyday life, through rest, movement, connection, and simply being present.
If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to connect and hear more about your story.
